Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor

About the role

The Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor leads on‑site drilling teams for Geotech Drilling, a member of the ConeTec Group. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure safe, efficient execution of geotechnical, environmental and exploration drilling programs across western Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise drill crews, assistants, subcontractors and equipment to meet project schedules.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and maintain HSE compliance for all personnel.
• Communicate progress and issues with clients, contractors and the Project Manager.
• Utilise technical knowledge of drill rigs to troubleshoot and perform specialised tasks.
• Prepare daily drilling reports, incident investigations and audit documentation.
• Coordinate employee training, mentor high‑potential staff and manage change requests.
• Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges and feed/weight indicators, and oversee pre‑ and post‑hole inspections.
• Operate and maintain ancillary equipment including trucks, pumps, heaters and compressors.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Minimum 10 years experience in geotechnical drilling.
• Proven ability to lead on‑site teams and manage subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and reporting procedures.
