General Manager – Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

HoopStars, a Toronto‑based youth basketball business, is seeking a hands‑on General Manager to drive marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth while also building the parent company’s marketing team. The role is remote (LATAM) with Toronto‑based working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts.
• Lead sales and operations to ensure programmes, coaches, venues and service quality meet demand.
• Drive digital growth by improving paid search, social, creative assets, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Define, recruit and manage the parent‑company marketing team across multiple brands, including contractors and agencies.
• Establish commercial discipline by linking campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit, and allocate marketing spend based on reliable reporting and testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience building ecommerce businesses or leading growth for consumer brands, with responsibility for paid acquisition, conversion and retention.
• Commercial accountability beyond marketing budgets, including pricing, margins, staffing, forecasts and overall profitability.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.
• Ability to translate ecommerce methods into a service‑oriented business with real delivery capacity.
• Strong professional English and effective remote leadership skills.
