General Labourer

About the role

The General Labourer supports construction and maintenance activities across multiple sites in British Columbia. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will help ensure projects stay on schedule by performing physical tasks, handling materials, and assisting skilled trades.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with site setup and preparation, including clearing debris and assembling temporary structures such as scaffolding and barricades.
• Load, unload, transport, and store construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Support carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers by holding materials, operating equipment, and performing routine tasks.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete; assist with placement and finishing.
• Safely perform demolition work and remove debris using hand and power tools.
• Operate basic machinery and tools (drills, saws, jackhammers, compactors) under supervision.
• Follow all safety protocols, wear PPE, and maintain a clean, organized worksite.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.

Required profile

• Physically fit, able to lift 50 lb or more and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work in loud, dusty or hazardous conditions, at heights, and in varying weather.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to teamwork.
• Basic problem‑solving ability and awareness of construction safety regulations.

Required skills

• Operation of basic construction tools and machinery (drills, saws, jackhammers, compactors).
• Familiarity with concrete mixing and finishing.
