Full-Time Cook – Seniors Living Retirement

About the role

S&R Seniors Living is looking for a full-time cook for its Seniors Living homes in Kitchener. The work creates a warm, welcoming culinary atmosphere with nutritious meals for residents, and offers reasonable hours so evenings are your own. Key responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, nutritious meals from scratch that meet residents' dietary needs and texture modifications, using standardized recipes and safe practices
• Cook in batches and manage multiple stations so meals are served on time and at the right temperature
• Keep the kitchen clean, safe and sanitary through strong food safety habits, including handwashing and routine cleaning and sanitizing
• Check and record food temperatures to comply with policies, Public Health regulations and MOH guidelines
• Operate, clean and maintain kitchen equipment safely
• Contribute to special events such as holiday dinners and summer barbecues, and support the team as needed

Required profile

• Certification in the Food Safety Awareness Course, with recertification every 5 years
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
