Full-time Cook – Prince George

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at Denny's Restaurants in Prince George, BC. The role involves preparing and cooking meals, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring food quality and safety. This is a permanent full‑time position with competitive hourly wages.

Key responsibilities

• Determine portion sizes and calculate associated food costs.
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements for service.
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes according to recipes.
• Prepare special meals for patients as directed by a dietitian or chef.
• Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe handling.
• Order supplies and equipment needed for daily operations.
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, maintaining a productive work environment.
• Maintain inventory records for food, supplies, and equipment, and keep the kitchen clean.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience working in a kitchen environment.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, shifts, days, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to follow dietary instructions and maintain high standards of food safety.
