First Cook – Restaurant Kitchen

About the role

We are seeking a First Cook to join our team at MR MIKES Steakhouse Casual in Prince George, BC. The role involves preparing and cooking Canadian‑style meals, coordinating special events, and overseeing day‑to‑day kitchen operations in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate special events and organize buffets or banquets.
• Plan menus, estimate food requirements and requisition supplies.
• Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes, and meals for guests with allergies or intolerances.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Train, supervise and schedule kitchen staff and helpers.
• Maintain inventory records, order supplies and equipment, and keep work areas clean.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen.
• Dependable, flexible, organized and able to work under pressure.
