Full-Time Bookkeeper

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our team and support the financial health of our organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and trust fund activities while ensuring accurate month‑end reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and trust funds.
• Process payroll using ADP WFN, including T4 reporting and record of employment.
• Handle bank deposits, petty cash reconciliation, and vendor payments.
• Prepare month‑end financial statements and support audits.
• Assist the management team with financial issues and strategic budgeting.
• Support recruitment, orientation, retention, and performance management initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with collective agreements, employment standards, and health & safety legislation.
• Participate in facility‑wide quality improvement and indicator tracking.

Required profile

• Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, including payroll or accounts receivable.
• Experience with unionized payroll and benefits administration.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact courteously with residents, staff, and volunteers.
• High sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidentiality.

Required skills

• ADP Workforce Now (ADP WFN) payroll system.
• Microsoft Office suite.
