FRCA Linguist – English to French Translator (Banking & Insurance)

About the role

TransPerfect’s Montreal office is seeking an FRCA Linguist to provide English‑to‑French translation and bilingual proofreading for banking and insurance clients. The position offers a hybrid work model, allowing you to work from our downtown office and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Translate high‑visibility banking and insurance documents into French‑Canadian, using idiomatic expressions.
• Proofread and edit translations to ensure brand consistency and linguistic accuracy.
• Maintain and update translation memories, glossaries, and style guides.
• Manage multiple projects, meet internal and client deadlines, and keep project managers informed of status.
• Support administrative tasks that contribute to key performance indicators.
• Participate in training new team members and freelancers, and act as a liaison with clients to understand preferences.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and French (Canadian), with proven translation experience in banking or insurance.
• Intermediate to senior level experience in translation and proofreading.
• Ability to work independently and handle several projects in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAT tools and translation memory software.
• Glossary and terminology management.
• Bilingual proofreading.
