Forward Deployed Engineer, Sovereign AI

About the role

Cohere’s team partners with Canadian public‑sector organisations to unlock transformative value through secure, ethical deployment of Generative AI solutions. You will work directly with public‑sector customers to understand their biggest challenges and design and implement solutions using Cohere’s North AI workspace platform.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship features for North, the AI workspace platform.
• Develop autonomous agents that interact with sensitive enterprise data.
• Experiment at high velocity and quality to exceed customer expectations.
• Work across the entire product lifecycle from concept to production.
• Lead end‑to‑end deployment of North in private‑cloud and on‑premises environments, including planning, configuration, testing, and rollout.

Required profile

• Experience working directly with customers and enjoying that interaction.
• Extensive production experience shipping Python code.
• Proven ability to build and deploy high‑performance client‑side or server‑side RAG/agentic applications.
• Strong coding skills across the stack, able to understand and fix issues outside the main code base.
• Thrives in fast‑paced environments where priorities shift rapidly.
