Food Service Supervisor – Restaurant

About the role

The Food Service Supervisor will lead a team of 5‑10 staff in a busy restaurant environment. You will ensure that food preparation, portioning, and service meet the company’s quality and safety standards while maintaining a smooth, fast‑paced operation.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and manage work schedules for food service staff.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
• Train employees on job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Estimate ingredient and supply needs for meal preparation.
• Ensure food and service meet quality control standards.
• Address customer complaints or concerns promptly.
• Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
• Supervise assembly of trays and delivery of food trolleys.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience in a food service or restaurant setting.
• Ability to work in noisy, odorous, wet/damp, hot, and outdoor environments.
• Strong client focus, efficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, shifts, weekends and overtime.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, kneel and handle fast‑paced tasks.
