Food Production Worker – Healthcare Facility

About the role

Join the Nutrition and Food Services team at Nova Scotia Health Authority as a Food Production Worker. You will help ensure patients, clients and community members receive safe, nutritious, and high‑quality meals in a variety of healthcare settings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, heat, reheat and assemble meals according to established recipes and portion sizes.
• Provide meal service in cafeterias, patient rooms and catering events.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work surfaces and dining areas.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards to protect patient health.
• Support the Food Service Supervisor by completing routine tasks and reporting any issues.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in food production or kitchen operations.
• Ability to work independently, especially in rural or remote sites.
• Strong attention to detail and professional judgment.
• Willingness to follow directions from the Food Service Supervisor, even when they are not on‑site.
