Financial Controller – Ready Mix Concrete

About the role

Our client, a leading North‑American real‑estate developer, is launching a Ready‑Mix Concrete division and needs a Financial Controller to lead the finance function. You will be responsible for accurate reporting, cost control, and compliance while partnering closely with plant operations, dispatch, sales, and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead the accounting and finance function for a newly established ready‑mix operation.
• Recruit, train, and mentor an accounting team from the ground up.
• Support ERP implementation, design financial processes, and establish reporting frameworks.
• Develop and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, month‑end close, and financial reporting cycles.
• Create management reporting to aid operational decision‑making.
• Partner with operations leadership on pricing, margins, cost control, and performance analysis.
• Provide hands‑on financial leadership to support launch and growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Concrete manufacturing industry experience.
• CPA designation.
• Proven ERP implementation experience.
• Strong background in financial reporting, process design, internal controls, and business partnering.
