Financial Controller – Food Production

About the role

Our client, a leading food production company, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function in Abbotsford. This senior position offers the chance to shape financial strategy, drive operational efficiency, and work closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee cost accounting and cash‑flow management, forecasting, and credit/collection processes.
• Drive the annual budgeting process across all departments.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations.
• Act as the finance lead for ERP systems and mentor the accounting team.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and leadership to align financial and operational objectives.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting and Canadian tax regulations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
