About the role
A fast‑growing payments company in Toronto is looking for a Contract Financial Controller to lead all financial operations, reporting, and controls. The role supports a high‑volume transaction environment and works closely with senior leadership to drive performance and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations including month‑ and year‑end close, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and preparation of financial statements under IFRS.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis and provide financial insights to senior leadership.
- Manage cash‑flow, settlement account reconciliations and relationships with banks and payment processors.
- Ensure compliance with payments regulations such as FINTRAC and PCI and support internal and external audits.
- Strengthen internal controls, policies and financial processes.
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
Required profile
- CPA designation.
- 7–10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including prior controllership responsibilities.
- Hands‑on experience in high‑volume transaction environments, preferably in payments, FinTech or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and analytical abilities.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel.
- Financial systems experience – NetSuite or Sage Intacct.
