Finance Controller (Hybrid – Mississauga)

About the role

The Finance Controller will provide full‑cycle financial services for The Alliance Canada, working closely with the VP of Finance and the Global Ministries Controller while leading a finance team in a hybrid work environment based in Mississauga.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial records for all Alliance Canada entities and serve internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead and develop a team of finance staff.
• Manage the general ledger, financial transactions and journal entries.
• Assist the annual budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with employment standards, HST/GST remittances, payroll deductions and regulatory filings such as T3010.
• Oversee financial reporting, statement preparation and distribution.
• Process and file payroll for staff and missionaries, prepare year‑end filings and ensure timely delivery of T4s.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with full‑cycle accounting in a nonprofit or similar environment.
• Proven ability to lead a finance team and collaborate with multiple internal departments.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax, payroll and regulatory requirements.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
