Field Service Mechanic – Surface Drills

About the role
We are looking for a Field Service Mechanic specialised in surface drills to join Sandvik’s mining division. You will work on‑site at customer locations, ensuring that surface drilling equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect surface drill equipment, diagnose faults and determine corrective actions.
- Adjust, repair or replace mechanical and electrical components according to work orders.
- Test repaired equipment to verify proper performance.
- Commission new drilling machines and provide on‑site training to customers.
- Complete accurate time records, technical and failure reports, and parts lists.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and stay current with industry developments.
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures, conduct risk assessments and maintain a clean work area.
Required profile
- Relevant trade certification; a Red Seal certification is an asset.
- At least three years of experience servicing mining equipment, preferably surface drills.
- Experience with equipment commissioning and customer training is advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fly‑in‑fly‑out schedule.

- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Heavy‑duty mechanical maintenance of surface drill equipment.
- Equipment commissioning and testing.
- Use of hand tools and adherence to safety protocols.
