About the role
The Field Operation Assistant supports daily farm activities at the Macdonald Campus Farm/Horticulture Centre. This part‑time, seasonal role provides hands‑on experience in horticulture and market sales.
Key responsibilities
- Perform general farm duties such as land preparation, rock picking, seeding, transplanting, pruning and hoeing.
- Operate a tractor for field tasks as needed.
- Harvest fruits and vegetables and assist with post‑harvest handling.
- Provide customer service and sales support at the Mac Market counter.
- Collect and record data from research plots.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Chief Horticulture Technician.
Required profile
- High school diploma (minimum education).
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- Basic English proficiency (level 2).
- Previous horticulture experience is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence is an asset.

What we offer
- Hourly wage of $18.00 CAD.
- Approximately 35 hours per week on‑site work.
- Practical experience in horticulture, data collection and market sales.
