Family Physician – Primary Care at CFB Gagetown

About the role

Calian is seeking a Family Physician to join the multidisciplinary health‑care team at the CFB Gagetown medical clinic. The role provides comprehensive primary care, minor trauma treatment, health promotion and occupational health services to Canadian Armed Forces members.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical fitness assessments for duty, including pre‑ and post‑deployment, periodic health assessments and hazardous‑occupation evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat occupational and environmental injuries and illnesses, and coordinate rehabilitation.
• Establish and manage Medical Employment Limitations, approve sick leave and recommend medical category changes.
• Maintain accurate occupational health records using the Electronic Health Record system.
• Provide primary medical care for acute and chronic conditions, referring patients to specialists when needed.

Required profile

• Provincial medical licence for the practice location.
• Certification in Family Medicine (CCFP) from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR/AED Level C certification.
• Minimum one year of full‑time equivalent experience in ambulatory primary care, occupational medicine, urgent care or emergency medicine (new graduates may be considered).

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
