Exercise Instructor – BC Brain Wellness Program

About the role

The BC Brain Wellness Program is seeking a contract Exercise Instructor to design, deliver, and evaluate exercise classes for participants living with chronic brain conditions. Classes will be offered both online and in‑person at UBC and partner sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop tailored exercise programs that address the needs of individuals with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, stroke, MS and related conditions.
• Deliver safe, engaging fitness sessions in virtual and onsite settings.
• Monitor participant safety, maintain confidentiality, and ensure accurate clinical data collection.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members across neurology, physiotherapy, nutrition and community partners.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Contract position with ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
• Experience delivering exercise programs to adults with neurological or chronic health conditions.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with participants, care partners and health professionals.
