About the role
The Executive Director provides overall leadership and operational oversight for a community‑focused service organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the role shapes strategic priorities, ensures sustainable operations, and builds strong relationships with funders, partners, staff, volunteers and the public.
Key responsibilities
- Translate long‑term vision into actionable operational plans and measurable outcomes.
- Lead change initiatives, policy development and continuous improvement across programs.
- Oversee day‑to‑day functions including program delivery, administration, facilities and support services.
- Ensure risk management, regulatory compliance, accreditation and governance standards are met.
- Maintain quality‑assurance systems, performance tracking and organizational accountability.
- Drive workforce planning, talent development, recruitment, onboarding, coaching and succession planning for senior staff.
- Collaborate with the Board on annual budgeting, financial stewardship and resource allocation.
- Negotiate service agreements, funding arrangements and strategic partnerships.
- Represent the organization in community forums, sector committees and collaborative networks.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, public administration, business).
- Proven senior leadership experience in a nonprofit or community‑service environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with boards, funders and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong understanding of governance, financial management and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
