Events Specialist – 15‑month Contract

About the role

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is seeking an Events Specialist on a 15‑month contract to support the planning and execution of its signature events, including the large‑scale World Chambers Congress scheduled for September 2027. The role blends logistical expertise with creative problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistical support for established events, monitoring plans, budgets, and partnerships.
• Lead registration processes for all signature events and manage on‑site troubleshooting.
• Assist senior event leaders with venue, catering, registration systems, marketing collateral, and on‑site operations.
• Develop and manage critical paths for specialty events such as policy round‑tables.
• Oversee venue, catering, AV, transportation, accommodation, and overall on‑site logistics for the 2027 international conference.
• Manage large‑scale registration systems, ensure data accuracy, and handle attendee communications.
• Coordinate exhibitor and sponsor logistics, including booth requirements and contractual deliverables.
• Support post‑event evaluations, surveys, and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in international event planning and logistics.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment and balance operational detail with creative thinking.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
