Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction

About the role

Clearway is a leading heavy‑civil contractor in Canada. The Estimator will support the growth of the company by preparing accurate bids and cost proposals for a variety of infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Chief Estimator, the role is based at the Maple head office.

Key responsibilities

• Read, understand, and interpret drawings and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and assemble well‑organized cost breakdowns using HeavyBid software.
• Prepare unit‑rate and lump‑sum proposals for bid‑build, design‑build, and construction management deliveries.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate sub‑contractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify risks, information gaps, and scope items that may require subcontracting.
• Participate in tender closings, weekly planning meetings, and strategy sessions.

Required profile

• Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management diploma.
• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Detail‑oriented with strong time‑management and organizational abilities.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Required skills
