Environmental Service Worker – Hospital Cleaner

About the role

Interior Health Authority is seeking a reliable and motivated Environmental Service Worker to join the Support Services team at Kootenay Lake Regional Hospital in Nelson, BC. This casual position involves maintaining clean and sanitary conditions throughout the facility in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties in patient rooms, resident areas, washrooms, corridors, lounges, offices and other common spaces.
• Ensure all areas meet infection‑control and sanitation standards.
• Handle waste disposal and replenish supplies as needed.
• Work rotating day and evening shifts (07:00‑15:00 and 15:00‑23:00).
• Adapt to varying workload hours, ranging from 0 to 37.5 hours per week.

Required profile

• Reliable, flexible and motivated individual.
• Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
