Entry-Level Automation Engineer

About the role

Zurich Canada is seeking an entry-level Automation Engineer to join its technology team. You will work on Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications, gaining experience in test automation, software development, and insurance business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for Guidewire applications.
• Automate business workflows and end‑to‑end scenarios across Guidewire and integrated systems.
• Support UI, API, regression, smoke, and integration testing activities.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and Guidewire experts to translate requirements into automated solutions.
• Assist in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test data, documentation, and results.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Basic programming/scripting knowledge in Java, Python, JavaScript, C# or similar.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, testing fundamentals, and REST API concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Guidewire InsuranceSuite (preferably PolicyCenter) basics.
• Automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Karate, Cucumber.
• SQL and basic database querying.
• Exposure to CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
