Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, providing a broad spectrum of acute care and procedural experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage a diverse range of emergency presentations.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the ongoing redevelopment of the hospital, including the new expanded emergency department.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada (Canadian or International Medical Graduate with appropriate licensure).
• Willingness to work in a community hospital setting and engage in teaching activities.
• Interest in professional development and leadership training.
