Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a broad spectrum of clinical cases and procedural opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development initiatives such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the ongoing redevelopment of the emergency department and future hospital expansions.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Emergency experience is an asset, but mentorship is available for new graduates and international medical graduates.
