Emergency Medicine Physician

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 patient visits each year, providing acute care across a broad spectrum of cases.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Perform a variety of emergency procedures and collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics and psychiatry.
• Participate in teaching and mentorship of medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives such as the NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program and upcoming hospital redevelopment.

Required profile

• Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP) certification, CCFP with Emergency Medicine designation, or Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCPC) in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Commitment to providing high‑quality emergency care in a community setting.
