Emergency Medicine Physician in Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, providing comprehensive acute care to a diverse community.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage emergency patients across a broad spectrum of conditions.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.
• Contribute to the expansion and redevelopment of the emergency department and hospital services.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Emergency medicine experience is an asset, but mentorship is available for new Canadian graduates and international medical graduates.
• Commitment to serving a rural community and interest in teaching.
