Emergency Medicine Physician – Full‑time & Locum Opportunities

About the role

Kelowna General Hospital is seeking board‑certified Emergency Medicine physicians for permanent full‑time and locum positions. The role involves delivering high‑quality emergency care in a busy tertiary referral centre serving over 84,000 annual ED visits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of medical and trauma cases.
• Participate in the Level 2 Trauma Centre and stroke referral pathways, including advanced procedures such as ECMO and endovascular thrombectomy.
• Contribute to teaching activities, bedside education, simulation sessions, and academic rounds.
• Collaborate with a collegial team, supporting mentorship and peer learning.

Required profile

• FRCPC or equivalent certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Experience in a high‑volume emergency department, preferably with trauma and cardiac critical care exposure.
• Commitment to teamwork, mentorship, and community engagement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ECMO management.
• Advanced ultrasound competency.
• Ability to perform complex cardiac and vascular emergency procedures.
