Emergency Medicine Physician – Full/Part Time

About the role

The Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a full‑time and/or part‑time physician (CCFP with or without additional EM training) to provide 24/7 emergency care at Fraser Canyon Hospital, a 16‑bed community facility located in Hope, BC.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency stabilization, triage and initial management for patients arriving by ambulance or self‑presenting.
• Provide on‑call coverage for the hospital’s emergency department, ensuring continuous service.
• Collaborate with nursing and allied health staff to maintain high‑quality patient care in a rural setting.
• Participate in hospice care services as needed.

Required profile

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC, CCFP‑EM, or ABEM).
• Eligibility for provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) or CPSBC USA‑certified registration.
• Willingness to work in a geographically isolated, rural environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
