Emergency Medicine Physician (Full/Part-time)

About the role

The Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine is hiring a full‑time and/or part‑time physician to provide 24/7 emergency care at Fraser Canyon Hospital, a 16‑bed community facility located in Hope, British Columbia. This rural position offers a unique lifestyle just two hours east of Vancouver, surrounded by mountains and outdoor recreation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency stabilization, triage, and acute care for local residents and travelers on major highways.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to ensure continuous 24/7 emergency coverage.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hospice services, to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to provincial licensing requirements.

Required profile

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC, CCFP‑EM, or ABEM).
• Eligibility for provisional or full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
• Willingness to work in a rural, geographically isolated setting.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
