Emergency Medicine Physician – Fraser Canyon Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time and/or part‑time physician to join the Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine at Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope, BC. The position provides 24/7 emergency care, stabilization and triage for a rural community and a high volume of travellers on major highways.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency medical assessment, stabilization and triage around the clock.
• Manage acute and trauma cases in a 16‑bed community hospital setting.
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure safe patient flow.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and provide coverage for hospice services as needed.

Required profile

• FRCPC (Emergency Medicine), CCFP‑EM, or ABEM certification.
• Eligibility for provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) – US‑registered CPSBC licence accepted.
• Current ACLS, ATLS and PALS certifications.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Broad emergency medicine clinical expertise.
