Emergency Medicine Physician – Fraser Canyon Hospital

About the role

The Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine is recruiting a full‑time and/or part‑time physician (CCFP +/- EM trained) to provide 24/7 emergency stabilization and triage at Fraser Canyon Hospital, a 16‑bed community hospital in Hope, British Columbia.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency care, stabilization and triage around the clock.
• Manage hospice beds and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Respond to travelers on major highways converging in the region.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• Certification in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC, CCFP‑EM, or ABEM).
• Eligible for provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) and able to obtain a full license.
• Willingness to work in a rural setting and commitment to community health.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• CCFP‑EM certification.
• FRCPC certification.
• CPSBC provisional and full registration.
