Emergency Medicine Physician – Fraser Canyon Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time or part‑time physician (CCFP with or without additional Emergency Medicine training) to join the Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine at Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope, BC. This rural position offers a unique opportunity to provide 24/7 emergency stabilization and triage in a 16‑bed community hospital serving local residents and highway travelers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency medical care, stabilization and triage for patients 24/7.
• Manage acute cases in a small‑hospital setting, including coordination with hospice services when needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient flow and quality care.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to emergencies from the surrounding region.

Required profile

• FRCPC (Emergency Medicine), CCFP‑EM, or ABEM certification.
• Eligibility for provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC); CPSBC USA‑certified registration also acceptable.
• Current ACLS, ATLS and PALS certifications.
