Electronics Technician

About the role

BinSentry is seeking an Electronics Technician to join its fast‑growing ag‑tech team in Kitchener. You will diagnose hardware failures, analyse returned units and help improve the reliability of our IoT sensor platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze field returns to identify root‑cause failures and document them in the QC system and Jira.
• Disassemble returned bins to salvage usable components and track parts in the Odoo inventory system.
• Design, build and maintain test fixtures that support production and R&D testing.
• Develop and execute functional and durability tests on prototype hardware.
• Train new staff on ESD mitigation procedures.

Required profile

• Electronics Technologist diploma or Electronics Engineering degree.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on electronics troubleshooting experience.
• Proficiency in hand soldering small SMD components (0402 or smaller).

Required skills

• Use of multimeters and power supplies.
• Operation of oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Interpretation of schematics and troubleshooting of analog and digital circuits.
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Comfort with command‑line tools for test automation.
