Junior Hydrogeologist

About the role

BluMetric is seeking an enthusiastic junior hydrogeologist to join its multidisciplinary team in Ontario. The role involves planning, executing, and managing hydrogeological and terrain analysis studies for a variety of clients, including land developers, municipal agencies, and industrial operators.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement field programs such as borings, supply and observation wells, groundwater and surface‑water sampling, and pumping/permeability tests for projects ranging from dewatering to water‑supply studies.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, integrate hydrogeological data into conceptual site models, and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety protocols.
• Manage projects of varying scale, prepare proposals, budgets, and high‑quality technical reports in English.
• Participate in Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and support site remediation activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences, Geological, Civil or Environmental Engineering; a Master’s in hydrogeology is an asset.
• 2‑5 years of experience supporting hydrogeological, ESA and remediation projects for mining, industrial, private and government clients.
• Familiarity with Ontario environmental regulations related to waste management, groundwater, surface water and water‑supply.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel locally and occasionally nationwide.
