Electrical Project Manager

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Electrical ICI Construction team is expanding and seeks an independent, enthusiastic professional to lead large‑scale electrical projects on‑site. Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee all phases from planning to close‑out while ensuring safety, quality, and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assigned projects in cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract performance.
• Develop project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the community.
• Plan, monitor, and manage construction schedules, milestones, and compliance with HSE regulations.
• Track progress, labour productivity, budget, and forecast; prepare accurate weekly productivity reports.
• Prepare estimates, negotiate scope changes, and manage contracts and revisions.
• Identify risks in work, contracts, and WIP and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure availability of materials and equipment for trades.

Required profile

• 5+ years of project management experience in unionized construction on large‑scale electrical ICI projects.
• Education in Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a Red Seal Electrical Journeyperson certification.
• Demonstrated competency in effective communication, customer focus, accountability, problem solving, teamwork, coaching, and strategic perspective.
