Electrical Mechanic – Maintenance & Repair

About the role

Erritt Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Mechanic to join its underground work site team in Concord, ON. The role focuses on testing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a wide range of electro‑mechanical equipment to ensure reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment, including motors, transformers, switchgear and generators.
• Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and related electro‑mechanical components.
• Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors.
• Perform machining tasks to modify or recondition shafts, commutators or other parts.
• Conduct on‑site servicing, repair and preventive maintenance programs, keeping detailed maintenance records.
• Test, repair or replace faulty wiring and components in electrical switchgear.
• Maintain, repair, test and install industrial storage batteries, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
• Diagnose and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced, underground environments with bending, crouching and kneeling.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
• Team player with excellent oral communication skills.
