Early Childhood Educator (Auxiliary) – Hourly

About the role

Join the UBC Okanagan Child Care Centre as an Early Childhood Educator (Auxiliary) on an hourly basis. This fixed‑term, leave‑replacement position supports a licensed group child‑care setting, delivering a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment for children.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement a rich early care and learning environment aligned with the British Columbia Early Learning Framework.
• Build meaningful relationships with children, families and colleagues while modelling curiosity and celebrating diversity.
• Supervise children using observation and positive guidance techniques, ensuring health, safety and appropriate interventions.
• Document and report any suspected abuse, illness or accidents in accordance with policy.
• Maintain clean, organized indoor and outdoor spaces and follow safe food and infection‑control practices.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and collaborative program planning.

Required profile

• Current BC Early Childhood Educator certification and Emergency Child Care First Aid certification.
• Clear Criminal Record Check.
• Energetic, patient and organized with strong judgment and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
