About the role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team in Etobicoke. The role involves installing and finishing drywall, as well as fabricating metal ceiling systems for commercial projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply successive coats of joint compound and sand seams and joints.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.

Required profile

  • No degree, certificate or diploma required.
  • 2 to less than 3 years of drywall installation experience.

Required skills

  • Drywall sheet measurement and cutting.
  • Joint compound application and sanding.
  • Metal corner bead installation.
  • Suspended metal ceiling grid fabrication.
  • Use of taping machine.
