Drywall Finisher

About the role

Hefty Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join its team in Victoria, BC. You will work on commercial and residential projects, handling all phases of drywall and plaster finishing in a fast‑paced, dusty and noisy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets, metal studs, corner beads and lath.
• Apply successive coats of joint compound, sand seams, and finish corners and angles.
• Mix plaster to the correct consistency, apply, level and smooth plaster coats, and install ornamental panels.
• Operate taping machines, trowels, spray equipment and scaffolding to complete interior and exterior finishes.
• Prepare surfaces, cut openings for utilities, and ensure proper curing of plaster.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school diploma).
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience in drywall or plaster finishing.
• Ability to work at heights on scaffolding, swing stages or falsework.
• Availability for shift or on‑call work, including evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable working in dusty, noisy construction sites.
