Drill Assistant – Exploration Projects

About the role

Geotech Drilling, a member of the ConeTec Group, is looking for an experienced Drill Assistant to support exploration projects across western Canada. The role involves hands‑on field work, assisting the driller and ensuring smooth operation of drilling equipment in remote and variable weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and supply the driller with tooling, drill rods, casing, core tubes and samples.
• Handle and organize drill rods, casing, core tubes and core samples on‑site.
• Maintain inventory levels of materials, supplies and tooling for the rig and support vehicles.
• Assist the driller, client and other team members as required.
• Perform regular lifts of 50‑90 lb safely.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the drilling industry.
• Experience with helicopter‑supported operations.
• Valid Class 5 or Class 7(N) driver’s licence.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair small mechanical equipment.
• Willingness to complete pre‑employment drug/alcohol testing and project‑specific safety courses.
• Comfort working in remote field locations for extended periods.
