About the role
Seabird Island is seeking a Division Manager to lead its Employment, Training, and Social Development programs. The role reports to the Director of Education and is responsible for delivering culturally relevant employment and skill‑building services that support community self‑sufficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership, mentorship and performance management for a team of employment and income‑assistance professionals.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, staffing, payroll, scheduling and leave authorisations.
- Develop, implement and evaluate pre‑employment training, job‑readiness workshops, resume and interview coaching, and placement initiatives.
- Build and maintain partnerships with employers, post‑secondary institutions and funding agencies.
- Ensure programs reflect First Nations values, cultural safety and community feedback.
- Prepare reports, surveys and recommendations to improve service delivery and meet contractual obligations.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing teams in employment, training or social‑development services.
- Strong understanding of First Nations cultural principles and community‑based program delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to secure funding, develop partnerships and manage budgets.
- Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
