Distribution/Collection Operator I

About the role

Aquatera is seeking a motivated Distribution/Collection Operator I to join its Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection team in Alberta. The role involves hands‑on operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, supporting the company’s mission to deliver clean water and a healthier environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate water and wastewater mains, valves, manholes, hydrants, and lift stations.
• Perform electronic inspection of sewer services and keep accurate records.
• Operate excavators and install water meters, including electronic meter reading.
• Turn water services on and off as required and participate in after‑hours standby rotation.
• Follow safety procedures, including confined‑space entry and first‑aid protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary training in water/wastewater is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, physically strenuous tasks in all weather conditions.
• Valid Canadian driver’s licence (Class 5; Class 3 with air endorsement preferred).
• Strong safety awareness and team‑player attitude.
