About the role
Manitoulin Transport, which operates the most extensive transportation network in North America, is looking for a Dispatcher for its Nanaimo service area, including surrounding rural routes. The role is fast-paced and demanding, focusing on planning and coordinating pickups and deliveries so that customers' expectations are met or exceeded.
Key responsibilities
- Schedule all terminal pickups and deliveries
- Verify equipment and driver availability, including start times
- Handle communications with customers, drivers, central dispatch and the Terminal Manager
- Perform dock work
- Other duties may be assigned
Required profile
- A thorough working knowledge of the Nanaimo area
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, with good time management skills
- Aptitude for math and ability to perform under pressure
Required skills
- Knowledge of equipment
