Director of Operations – Clinical Research & Innovative Medicine

About the role

The Director of Operations will lead the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the clinical research platform of the Research Institute of the MUHC. This senior role combines strategic planning, operational oversight, and partnership development to advance patient‑centered biomedical research.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic plan for CIM, aligning with the Institute’s overall research vision.
• Provide operational leadership, including budget negotiation, regulatory compliance, and resource allocation.
• Oversee project management of multicenter clinical trials and ensure seamless coordination with internal and external partners.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams delivering research services and technical platform support.
• Drive financial stewardship, performance monitoring, and long‑term sustainability of CIM operations.
• Foster collaborations with industry, academic investigators, and internal stakeholders to expand research capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior operational leadership within clinical research or a related biomedical environment.
• Strong track record of strategic planning, budget management, and regulatory oversight.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with academic, industry, and healthcare partners.
• Understanding of the full research lifecycle from bench to bedside.
