Director of Operations, Clinical Research & Innovation

About the role

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is seeking a senior leader to direct the operations of its Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM). This role will shape the strategic direction of clinical research services, ensure operational excellence, and foster collaborations across the Institute’s research ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic planning and operational leadership for the CIM.
• Build, lead, and develop high‑performing teams to support clinical research excellence.
• Oversee financial stewardship, budgeting, and long‑term sustainability of CIM operations.
• Lead the integration and optimisation of clinical research platforms and services.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external partnerships, including industry collaborations.
• Manage regulatory compliance, budget negotiations, and trial administration for multicentre studies.
• Implement organisational change initiatives aligned with the Institute’s vision.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in clinical research operations or a related healthcare research environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
• Strong financial management and budgeting expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management and partnership development skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines governing clinical studies.
