Director of Operations – Clinical Research & Centre for Innovative Medicine

About the role

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM). Reporting to both the Director of Clinical Research and the Chief Operating Officer, you will shape the strategic direction of CIM and ensure seamless delivery of clinical research services across the Institute.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the CIM strategic plan in alignment with Institute goals.
• Provide operational leadership, including budget negotiations, regulatory oversight, and resource allocation.
• Lead, motivate and develop high‑performing teams delivering clinical research services.
• Oversee project management of multicenter trials, technical platforms, and research operations.
• Foster internal and external partnerships with industry, investigators, and health‑care stakeholders.
• Ensure financial stewardship and long‑term sustainability of CIM operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior operational leadership within a clinical research or biomedical environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage high‑performing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and governance in health‑care research.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic plans and managing large budgets.
