Director of Operations – Clinical Research & Centre for Innovative Medicine

About the role

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre is seeking a senior leader to direct operations of its Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM). Reporting to both the Director of Clinical Research and the Chief Operating Officer, the incumbent will shape strategy, oversee day‑to‑day activities, and ensure the centre delivers high‑quality clinical research services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the CIM strategic and operational plan.
• Lead, build and mentor high‑performing teams across project management, regulatory, budgeting and technical platforms.
• Ensure financial stewardship, budget negotiations and long‑term sustainability of operations.
• Integrate and optimise clinical research platforms and services.
• Foster internal and external partnerships with industry, investigators and institutional stakeholders.
• Oversee multicentre trial management, regulatory compliance, and technical research operations.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in clinical research operations or a comparable biomedical environment.
• Strong strategic planning, financial management and change‑management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across academia, industry and health‑care partners.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks governing clinical studies.
