Director of Finance (Controller) – Vancouver

About the role

We are a well‑established contracting firm in Vancouver seeking a strategic, hands‑on Director of Finance. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, you will lead all financial operations, provide insight for growth, and help scale the finance function as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting and finance functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll and financial reporting.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
• Provide job costing and project‑level financial analysis.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve financial processes.
• Manage banking relationships, bonding and financing arrangements.
• Support strategic planning and business‑growth initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.

Required profile

• CPA designation (required).
• 8+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Construction or contracting industry experience strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of project accounting and job costing.
• Proven experience managing finance teams.
• Advanced financial modeling and Excel expertise.
• Strategic thinker with a hands‑on execution style.
